About me

My name is Dr Janine Young. I’m a writer, editor, broadcaster and science communicator, with more than 20 years’ experience across a wide range of science and health-based industries.

I take complex ideas and express them simply and clearly. More importantly, I help others do the same.

After being inspired by an article in National Geographic at the age of 14, I trained as an immunologist at the John Curtin School of Medical Research. Instead of doing bench research, I decided to talk about science for a living and never looked back.

I have worked in government and the private sector, as well as in community and commercial radio.

After living in Melbourne for nearly 14 years, I returned home to Canberra in early 2021. I live with my Other Half, two children, ridiculous ginger cat and two guinea pigs.
